Pork Chops &
Sauerkraut
6 pork chops, 3/4 in thick
1 large can sauerkraut
6 slices bacon
1 C onions, sliced
1 Tbls brown sugar
salt & pepper to taste
cooking oil (if needed)
1/4 C flour
Drain sauerkraut, in a small bowl, combine sauerkraut, brown sugar and salt and
pepper. Cook bacon, remove from pan and crumble. Season pork chops
with salt and pepper and dredge in flour. Brown onions in bacon grease and
remove from pan. Brown pork chops in remaining grease (add a little oil if
needed) Place pork chops in a shallow baking dish, cover with sauerkraut, onions
and bacon and bake at 350° for about 1 hour. Pork chops recipe serves 6.
Variation: In place of bacon use Hormel REAL Bacon Bits. In place of onion, use Durkee French Fried Onion Rings. Brown pork chops in oil, cover with sauerkraut (as above), Hormel REAL Bacon Bits & Durkee French Fried Onion Rings. Bake as above.
