Porcupine Meatballs

 

1 and 1/2 pounds ground beef

3/4 cup rice (uncooked)

1/2 cup onion (chopped fine)

2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce

2 cups water

salt and pepper to taste

 

In large bowl, combine ground beef, rice and onion; mix well. Form meat mixture into small balls and put into large skillet. Brown lightly and remove from heat. Add tomato sauce, water, salt and pepper; cover skillet and return to medium heat. After 15 minutes, uncover and stir, continue cooking over low heat for 1 hour or until rice is falling out of meatballs.
